Experimental Pragmatics 2019 | Edinburgh, June 19-21 2019

Call for papers

We are delighted to announce the 8th biennial Experimental Pragmatics Conference, XPRAG 2019, which will take place at the University of Edinburgh from 19-21 June 2019. XPRAG brings together researchers from linguistics, psychology, philosophy, neuroscience and related fields who work on pragmatic phenomena using experimental methods. Previous XPRAG conferences were held in Cambridge (2005), Berlin (2007), Lyon (2009), Barcelona (2011), Utrecht (2013), Chicago (2015) and Cologne (2017). The conference will be preceded by a workshop on Interaction and the Evolution of Linguistic Complexity (18 June 2019). The CfP for this workshop will be announced separately.

Abstract submission by 1 February 2019

We invite interested researchers to submit abstracts for 20-minute talks (+ 10 minutes of discussion), as well as poster presentations, on any topic related to experimental pragmatics. The submission deadline is 1 February 2019, 11:59 pm in the authors' time zone. Authors will be notified by mid-March. Abstracts must not exceed two pages in PDF format, including examples and references, with 1 inch margins on all sides and 12 point font size.
